The British Pharmacopoeia 2016 download will be updated three times throughout the year to include published European Pharmacopoeia Supplements.

You should use the most up-to-date version by downloading the each update once it has published. This will ensure you are complying with the latest standards.

If you have only purchased the download and not the full BP 2016 package, the product codes will have been provided to you by our Customer Services team.

Unique product codes for the initial download and subsequent updates are printed on the sticker inside the cover of Volume 1 of your hardcopy.

To obtain access to BP 2016 via the download, you need to complete the following steps:

Go to www.pharmacopoeia.com/BPDownload2016
Enter your name, email address and company name
Enter your product code (use the BP 2016 code for the initial download)
Choose the PC or Mac download version. This will download the installer which you will need to unzip
Open the file. This will take you through the installation process
Once complete, run the program and re-enter the product code to gain access

System requirements:

Internet access will be required to install the download. Once installed, the product can be used offline.

Windows 7 or higher / Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8, 10.09, 10.10 or 10.11

Minimum of 2GB of memory

The BP 2016 includes almost 4,000 monographs which are legally enforced by the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, and becomes legally effective on 1 January 2016. Where a pharmacopoeial monograph exists, medicinal products sold or supplied in the UK must comply with the relevant monograph. All monographs and requirements of the European Pharmacopoeia are also reproduced in the BP.
