Trust law is one of the topics in the Commission's current programme of law reform and is widely regarded as being in need of modernisation. This is one of two discussion papers, the first in a series that the Commission intends to issue over the next year or so.

There is a consultation period on these papers which lasts until 31st December 2003. Final recommendations for reform will be made in a report to the Scottish Ministers.
