The Companies Act 1985 received Royal Assent on 11 March 1985 and sets out the responsibilities of companies, their directors, and secretaries. Company law in England and Wales was then reformed by the Companies Act 1989 (ISBN 0105440892), the Companies (Audit, Investigations and Community Enterprise) Act 2004 (ISBN 0105427047), and the Companies Act 2006 (ISBN 0105446068, all of which are available below). However, large parts of the Companies Act 1985 remain in force.
