This document is introduced by the Civil Aviation Authority to be used by Engineers as a record of the individual's employment history, experience and qualifications and can be used to confirm technical competency when applying for a licence, examination or seeking employment.

This A5 logbook is a compact and portable reference document, which holds a concise history of the user's training, experience, qualification and employment record. The logbook allows users to methodically and progressively record personal data and ongoing work experience, enabling a quicker and more accurate assessment of their technical knowledge and experience by a regulatory authority, employer or assessor.

It clarifies the function and qualification requirements for the Assessor and introduces new tasks to align with the current Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence syllabus.

The design and content of this logbook have been derived from current regulatory requirements

However, please note that:

  • Completion does not preclude the need to produce original documents, such as employment testimonials, training certificates or certified true copies of the same, where these may be required.

This 2008 edition is in a handy A5 format and comes with a binder, which includes a plastic pocket on the inside cover to hold documentation. The logbook has been produced in loose-leaf form, enabling additional pages to be inserted and redundant or surplus pages to be removed.

Refill packs and additional binders are available to buy separately, please see below.

Please note: when you order this CAA publication your binder and text will be dispatched from separate locations - your order will therefore arrive in two separate parcels/deliveries.
