The 'Food Industry Guide to Good Hygiene Practice: Flour Milling', drawn up by the National Association of British and Irish Millers (nabim - the trade association for the UK flour milling industry) provides essential advice to food businesses operating flour mills on how to comply with Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the Hygiene of Foodstuffs.
The Guide has been developed in accordance with Article 7 of the EU Regulation and its preparation has followed the 2005 'Guidelines for the Development of National Voluntary Guides to Good Hygiene Practice' issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and updated the previous industry guide based on the Food Hygiene Regulations 1995.
Whilst this guide is not legally binding, officers from food authorities must take it into account when assessing compliance with the regulations. The guide forms part of a series of industry guides to Good Hygiene Practice that are formally recognised by the FSA.
