'Generic Risk Assessment (GRA) 5.8 – Flashover, Backdraft and Fire Gas Ignitions' is part of a new series of GRAs that are the product of a 10 year consultation period. The GRAs in this series have been designed to safeguard fire and rescue personnel and members of the public.
GRA 5.8 examines the hazards, risks and controls that relate to Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) staff and others who may be affected when the phenomenon of Flashover, Backdraft or Fire Gas Ignition is experienced. GRA 5.8 covers the tasks, hazards and risks associated with these phenomenon and outlines the persons at risk and control measures that should be implemented.
