Code of Practice for Authorised Officers under the Terrorism Act 2000

This code of practice applies to the exercise by an authorised officer of functions under Part III of the Terrorism Act 2000. "Authorised Officer" for the purpose of this code has the same meaning as in Section 24 of the Act. It therefore applies to an immigration officer and a customs officer when exercising functions under Part III of the Act as well as to a police officer exercising these functions.
The code is made available at police stations for consultation by police officers and members of the public. The code will also be of interest and guidance to immigration officers and customs officers.
