Terrorism Act 2000
The Terrorism Act 2000 reforms and extends existing counter-terrorist legislation, putting it largely on a permanent basis. Additional temporary measures for Northern Ireland are provided in the Act, time-limited to five years. Under this Act, counter-terrorist measures will now be applicable to all forms of terrorism: Irish, international and domestic. The Act details counter-terrorist powers, terrorist fundraising and the seizure of terrorist cash and the gathering of information and evidence in terrorist investigations.
