'Independent Health Care: National Minimum Standards – Regulations' sets out the regulations and National Minimum Standards for independent health care, which the new National Care Standards Commission (NCSC) will use to determine whether service providers have in place appropriate safeguards and quality assurance arrangements for their patients. These will apply to independent health care establishments for which registration is currently required under the Registered Homes Act 1984 (ISBN 010542384X, available below) and to independent health care providers who will be newly regulated by the NCSC. The regulations and standards are published in accordance with section 23 of the Care Standards Act 2000 (ISBN 010541400X, available below) and will apply from April 2002.
