HC 1135, Seveth Report of Session 2014-15 - Report, Together with an Appendix and Formal Minutes Relating to the Report
- House of Commons - Committee on Standards
- TSO (The Stationery Office)
The report Simon Danczuk (HC 1135)' arises from a complaint from Paul Turner-Mitchell that Mr Simon Danczuk had failed to enter in the Register of Members' Financial Interests, within the 28 days required, payments in connection with the publication and serialisation of a book 'Smile for the Camera'.
In the course of the Commissioner's inquiry into this allegation, it became clear not only that that Mr Danczuk had failed to register at the appropriate time a number of payments related to the book, but that he continued to make late entries even while the Commissioner was investigating the original allegation. Mr Danczuk was therefore found in breach of the Rules of the House in respect of timely registration.
The Committee recommends that Mr Danczuk's late entries appear as if they had been subject to the rectification procedure. He has apologised to the Commissioner, and no additional action in respect of these late registrations is recommended.
