Department of Health - National Minimum Standards and Regulations
Issued by the Department of Health, these publications set out the National Minimum Standards and Regulations for the health service, which the National Care Standards Commission (NCSC) use to determine whether service providers have in place appropriate safeguards and quality assurance arrangements.
The regulations and standards are published in accordance with the Care Standards Act 2000 and are issued for a range of health service providers.

Adoptions
To enforce standards, the National Care Standards Commission has the authority to report any breaches in the regulations, and in respect of local authorities, to the Secretary of State.
