Department for Children, Schools and FamiliesThe former Department for Children, Schools and Families
(DCSF) – one of the government departments set up by the Prime Minister on 28 June 2007 to replace the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) – was responsible for improving the focus on all aspects of policy affecting children and young people, as part of the Government’s aim to deliver
educational excellence.

Please note that the DCSF has now been replaced by the Department for Education (DfE) . The DfE was formed on 12 May 2010 by the new goverment and is responsible for education and children's services.
