The Office of the Chief Fire and Rescue Adviser

The Office of the Chief Fire and Rescue Adviser

The Office of the Chief Fire and Rescue Adviser (CFRA) was established in October 2007, following the appointment of the first Chief Fire and Rescue Adviser, Sir Ken Knight. The CFRA has replaced what was formerly HM Fire Service Inspectorate.

Sir Ken Knight and his team provide strategic advice and guidance to ministers, civil servants, fire and rescue services in England and other stakeholders (including the devolved administrations), on the structure, organisation and performance of the Fire and Rescue Service.
