Transition Report 2003
Integration and Regional Cooperation
- Author:
- European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
The Transition Report is a unique source of information on economic developments in eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. It is published by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, drawing on its extensive experience as the largest investor in the region.
In 2004 eight countries from eastern Europe will join the European Union. This year's Transition Report focuses on the impact that this will have not only on the new member countries but also on the countries left outside. How will it affect current trade patterns between eastern Europe and the rest of the world, and what are the options for the non-EU members? Should there be a Free Trade Area for a wider Europe? And what role can regional trade blocs play?
