These tables are designed to assist the courts to arrive at suitable sums for damages in a range of possible situations in personal injury and fatal accident cases. They are also known as the 'Ogden Tables' after Sir Michael Ogden, QC – the original working party chairman.
The Sixth Edition provides a new methodology, based on the results of recent research, for assessing appropriate deductions to be made to the working life multiplier for dealing with contingencies other than mortality, including the assessment of a claimant’s residual earning capacity post-accident. It also provides guidance for dealing with variable future losses or expenses.
Please note: This publication supersedes 'Actuarial Tables with Explanatory Notes for use in Personal Injury and Fatal Accident Cases: Fifth Edition (2004)' (ISBN 0115601171).
