The draft Order would: remove the power of the Registrar to refuse to register designs on grounds of lack of novelty; remove an effective block on multiple applications; require public inspection of all designs; and facilitate the reinstatement of lapsed designs. After examining the draft Order the Regulatory Reform Committee recommend that it should be approved.
